My Story

A love of making, a lot of knots, and a little corner of Cambridge.

Haystack & Co. grew from a simple love of making things by hand. I’ve been knotting macramé for around nine years, and what began as a creative pastime gradually became something much more important to me — a way of experimenting with texture, colour and natural forms, and of creating pieces that bring a little warmth and individuality into a home.

Today, I make a growing collection of hand-knotted homeware, decorative pieces and accessories, from plant hangers and wall pieces to candle jars, tassels and smaller gifts. I also love developing one-off designs and adapting ideas to suit a particular space, colour palette or person.

Wherever possible, I work with recycled cord, including recycled cotton and other carefully chosen materials. I like my pieces to feel tactile, relaxed and beautifully imperfect — something clearly made by human hands rather than a factory.

Find me in Cambridge

Haystack & Co. also has a home at All Saints Garden Art & Craft Market in Cambridge, where you can see the pieces properly, feel the textures and discover new designs as they appear. The market is also where many bespoke ideas begin. You might spot a piece you love but want it in another colour, need something made for a particular corner of your home, or simply have the beginnings of an idea. That is very much part of Haystack & Co. Come and say hello, have a browse, and see what’s currently on the knotting table.
